Nou: asks for input on strategic plan for sheriff’s office

I am honored to be the sheriff-elect of San Juan County. I am profoundly grateful for the level of support from voters throughout the county who overwhelmingly chose me to be their Sheriff as Bill Cumming retires after 24 years in office. Thank you for this opportunity.

I am energized by the election, and will do my best to live up to your expectations in moving your sheriff’s office forward into the future. The sheriff’s office today has a group of dedicated, quality men and women who are committed to the safety, security and well being of our communities. It is my intention to build on this foundation by providing them with the tools and training to provide the best service possible.

I applaud Brent Johnson for conducting a campaign that was centered on values, goals, vision and plans for the future of the sheriff’s office. Brent was a worthy opponent in the race, and I look forward to working with him in the future.

As the transition begins as I prepare to take office in January, I invite your input, concerns and suggestions. We will undertake a process to develop a strategic plan in the near future. I would welcome your participation in creating that vision for your sheriff’s office of tomorrow.

Rob Nou, sheriff-elect
