The recent exhibit of Maggie Sharkey’s work at Washington Federal deserves comment because it was one of the best exhibits by a local artist that I have seen on Orcas Island.

The work consisted of still-life work and landscapes in pastels and oils with a extraordinary use of color.  Local collectors need to be aware of Sharkey’s advanced skills and her ridiculously low prices.  Although some pieces were sold, there were still some of the best work remaining at the close of the exhibit.
