Kaleidoscope needs help in final push to finish expansion | Letter

As you may know, Kaleidoscope Preschool and Child Care Center’s expansion project is well underway! We have had much community support to get as far as we have with an especially huge commitment from Terra Firma NW. Orcas Excavators were awesome. Island Sheet Metal & Gutters completed the roofing, Mons Bilgren with Orcas Concrete Finishers helped with the foundation (and will be back for sidewalk work), Ed Cunningham helped with backfill and other locals (Eric Beemer, Allen Minnis, Larry Everett) have put in an afternoon or two – all free of charge! Wow! Island Hardware and Supply has got us screaming deals on materials (often completely donated) and Morris Plumbing has offered us discounts to stretch our limited budget further. Nelson Moulton from Orcas Electric has gotten a great start on electrical. North Star Drywall has signed on to help, along with Bill Reaveley of Bill’s Custom Finishing, and Philip Shane.

Here’s where you come in: we need MORE help. We are looking for a crew for:

• Siding (hardi panel board and batt)

• Porch framing (with 26X10 roof)

• Evening and weekend help with sheetrock

• Simple interior trim

None of these jobs are incredibly time consuming if we all share the work load. We need to get this project finished before summer so we can be open for families with infants and toddlers! So please check your karma card and see what you and/or your crew can volunteer for. Thank you.
