Recently we have lost and are currently losing local businesses left and right. We, as islanders, need to save our economy. If there are no businesses left in town, restaurants to eat in, or stores to buy groceries in, no tourists will have a reason to make this island a destination on their vacations. We need tourists to sustain our island. With no commerce there is no reason for the public transportation to provide service.
Please, Orcas Islanders, spend locally, think globally, and take time to research what is important to our environment, our community, and our future. Do you love your island?
