On behalf of all Orcas Islands’ children and their families I would like to offer a HUGE thank you to Steve and Jean Heningson, the Kiwanis Club, Oddfellows, Ed Kamin, Kathryn Kier, Suzanne Olson and Mary Britt.

Our three medical centers are willing to share the use of a portable audiometer so that all children can have timely and accurate hearing screenings. This has been a much needed piece of medical equipment for children on this island. School starts in just a few weeks and I sincerely hope we will have this equipment here soon. Due to the generosity of people like Steve and Jean donating $1,500 and the Kiwanis Club and individual members donating $700 we are just $572 short of our goal to purchase this equipment.

I am so grateful we live in such an amazing community that takes care of its own. If you feel passionate about the importance of our youth and their education I invite you to donate any amount. Donations can be made to Orcas Island Community Foundation; please specify it is for the audiometer.
