Buying a car by fax is easier than you think | Letter

Living on an island, not wanting to go to the mainland to shop more than two or three times a year, plus the forced trips to a doctor or vet, buying a car can be a drag.

Not having a computer adds to the deal, as modern communication can be helpful with e-mails and all that.

I tried something new (old) that worked. I bought a new Subaru ENTIRELY by fax. Having sent a fax requesting a price quote on a specific model with specific extras to all the Subaru dealers in the phone books (eight), the best offer and realistic pricing on my extras, gave Kelly Rayson of Roy Robinson Subaru of Marysville the deal. I never met him, talked to him on the phone or dealt with him in any manner but fax. He delivered exactly what I ordered. He said “in 25 years at this desk, I’ve never sold a car by fax before.” Try it, it’s easy.
