John Liger of Orcas Island passed away on Nov. 13 at his home. He loved the island and its diverse people. It was his home for 42 years.

A big thank you to Orcas EMTs; Island Air; Gina Wegner, RN; Dr. Dave Shinstrom and OFHC staff; and Hospice Northwest. It’s been a tough year but you made it possible. Thank you so much, Ron Myers; Carl Burger; and Overton Berry for your friendships with John and great musical times.

Also so helpful were Jamie and Heidi at Orcas Senior Center; Kevin Doyle; Kirk Huffman and family; and so many others. A very special thank you to Molly, Janine, Suzi Rose and Tweety – John’s wonderful caregivers. A big hug and thank you to my wonderful niece and friend Colleen Billings.
