New investment consulting firm based on Orcas Island

Paula Treneer, hailing originally from Seattle, has recently re-located from Paris, France to Orcas Island, following a 35-year financial career, which took her from Boston to Manhattan and the United Arab Emirates. Formerly a senior portfolio manager overseeing a multi-billion dollar commodity portfolio for the UAE sovereign wealth fund known as ADIA, Treneer co-manages the Madrona Partners fund for family offices. Through Idun Partners, the consulting arm of Madrona Partners, Treneer and her associates are innovators in the use of social media for enhancing the quality of investment research.

Building on her longstanding involvement in volunteer work, which has included stints on the Washington State Investment Board and as a Section D Fund Agent for the Harvard Business School, Treneer has plunged enthusiastically into the Orcas Island non-profit scene as the most recent recruit to the Orcas Recycling Services/Exchange Board. Paula still has significant ties to Paris, not the least of which is a senior rescue beagle known abroad as Duchess Marjorie.
