Frausto takes over Windsock Excavators

Long-time excavator Justin Frausto is the new general manager of Windsock Farms and Excavation, which has been based on Lopez Island for the past 41 years.

Frausto has moved Windsock Excavators to his hometown of Orcas, and is operating the business with his brother Isaac.

Dwight Lewis, who launched the operation in 1976, is still the owner. The two met in 2015 when Lopez students joined the Orcas football team, which Frausto was coaching. They hit it off, and Lewis asked him if he was interested in expanding his company.

“It’s exciting,” said Frausto. “I’ll be able to interact with more people, and do great work.”

Windsock offers excavation, septic installation, road building, house sites and rock walls. Frausto can be reached at 360-317-6797 or justinfrausto@yahoo.com.
