FoodMasters will host a class on how to make miso on May 15, from noon to 4:30 p.m. at the Olga Energetics Club in downtown Olga.
The class will be led by Dan Borman. Organizers have ordered a bulk shipment of dried Koji, used to make miso, and everyone will take home miso from the class.
Topics include understanding, making, and using traditional and modern fermented beans and simple ideas to promote health and provide protection against radiation and cancer.
Schedule:
12 to 1 p.m.: Talk and discussion on Miso
1 to 2 p.m.: Miso soup and potluck lunch (please bring something to share)
2 to 3:30 p.m.: Making local miso, hands on
3:30 to 4:30 p.m.: Extending your miso stash, hands on
Cost is $25. Scholarships and/or trade opportunities available by inquiry.
