Primary decides Linde as Judge, Ranker wins State Senate primary
As of 6 p.m. Aug. 21, the San Juan County Elections Office released the results of the Aug. 19, 2008 primary election. They showed that Orcas West County Council candidates Richard Fralick and Mindy Kayl had advanced to the general election, as a result of being the top-two vote-getters eligible to go on past the primary election.
John Linde won the first electoral race for the county’s Superior Court Judge seat, a position he has filled since his appointment last winter by Governor Chris Gregoire.
County Council Member Kevin Ranker came out in first place in the race for the Legislative District 40 Senate seat, which will be vacated by Senator Harriet Spanel when she retires in 2009.
On San Juan Island, Lovel Pratt and Gordy Peterson led the rest for the council seat in County District #1.
On Aug. 21, there were 300 ballots left to process in the San Juan County tabulation. The next results will be issued Aug. 26 on the county website, www.sanjuanco.com.
