Orcas Christian School 10th grade student Graye Parnell has been accepted into the Secondary School Program at Harvard.
Only 1,000 exceptional students out of 8,000 applicants are chosen from the United States and 70 other countries to participate in the summer session, which allows participants to experience college.
“Graye is focused on learning and gaining knowledge, and we are proud of him for being selected for this opportunity,” said OCS principal Tom Roosma.
The program allows secondary students to take college courses with university students in a broad range of subjects. Classes begin in July of this year.
“Graye’s studies will focus on environmental economics and marine biology,” Roosma said.
