Kid-friendly activities posted on orcasfamilyfun.com

The Funhouse announced Aug. 20 the launch of a new web site specifically for families visiting Orcas during the shoulder seasons of fall and spring.

The web site orcasfamilyfun.com highlights Orcas Island as a premier destination for families and includes weekly blogs on family activities. Many blog posts are written by local mom, Jesica Sweedler DeHart.

Orcasfamilyfun.com provides information on places to eat, shop, and stay as well as resources on local artists, hikes, special events, and green living.

Executive Director of The Funhouse Pete Moe said, “For a community our size, it is simply amazing how many family-friendly opportunities there are on the island regardless of the weather.”

Developed cooperatively by several kid-oriented groups on the island including The Funhouse and the Orcas Island Chamber of Commerce, the web site focuses on visitor attractions during the shoulder seasons.

Funding for the site was provided by the San Juan County Lodging Tax Grant Program.

To be listed as a business that provides family-friendly tourist activities or to become a guest blogger reviewing events and activities, contact Pete Moe at The Funhouse at 376-7177.
