Pet equipment swap, auction and more to benefit the Orcas Off-Leash Area

Do you have pet equipment (leashes, kennels, carriers, beds, etc.) that you no longer need, or do you have a new pet that needs some good used equipment?

The Orcas Off-Leash Area is sponsoring a SWAP (Sniff, Wag And Purchase!) event at the Dog Park at the corner of Mt. Baker and North Beach roads from 1 to 4 p.m. on Sunday, Sept. 12.

The afternoon will also feature games and demonstrations for dogs and their owners and a silent auction featuring gifts, getaways, art, restaurant dinners, pet supplies and more from Orcas Island businesses, all to benefit the Orcas Off-Leash Area.

People with new or used pet equipment can either sell it themselves at the event, donating a portion of the sold price to OOLA or they may donate it outright and OOLA will sell the equipment and keep the proceeds as a donation.

People selling their own equipment are asked to be at the Off-Leash Area by 12:30 p.m. on Sept. 12. OOLA volunteers will help display the items and provide a sales and donation form. Equipment owners are asked to stay through the event, or until all of their items are sold.

Equipment donors may drop off their used pet items from Sept. 8 to Sept. 11, from 10 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. at Pawki’s at 199 Main Street in Eastsound.
