The 2018 Lady Viking Volleyball season is off to a great start with 19 girls in the gym.

“We will have both a junior varsity and varsity team this year. New athletes include seven freshmen; a new student; and a few others that have found their way onto the court,” said head coach Rebekah Hardee.

Along with the returning players, the team is ready to start the season in a non-league match against Sultan at home on Saturday, Sept. 15, at 2:30 p.m.

Madeline White, an Orcas High School alumna and former Viking athlete, returns to the gym to coach junior varsity.

“Any volleyball coach will tell you it all starts with a pass, and we have many strong passers this year. The team will be looking to our returning setter and senior Parker Landsman, and senior defensive specialist Alyssa Johns to lead them through a great season,” said Hardee.
