Orcas High School Student

Volleyball

On Oct. 15, the Lady Vikings faced La Conner at home, for the first of five home games in a row.

The final score was 0-3 in favor of the La Conner Braves, who are first in the league.

On Oct. 17, Concrete came to Orcas, and battled. The Vikings were able to pull out the first two sets and then the Lions took the third. Concrete did not want to give up, but in the fourth set, the Vikings took home the win, 3-1.

The team will face Mount Vernon Christian on Oct. 22 and Friday Harbor on Oct. 24, both at home.

Girl’s Soccer

The Lady Vikings had the week of Oct. 14 through the 18 off from games, and have been working hard in order to come back on Oct. 22 to face Mount Vernon Christian and Friday Harbor on Oct. 24. The team will also play on the Saturday of homecoming on Oct. 26 and face La Conner for the senior game. All three games will be at home.

Boy’s Soccer

Ranked number one in the state, the Vikings continued their undefeated season as they headed to Mount Vernon Christian on Oct. 11 and finished with a score of 5-1.

Back at home on Oct. 17 Grace Academy came to Orcas and the Vikings took the 4-1 win. The team traveled to Providence Classical Christian on Oct. 18 and will be back at home on Oct. 26 for the Homecoming game against La Conner.

Cross Country

The Vikings traveled to Bellingham on Oct. 17 to compete in the Lake Lap Invite. Caught in a downpour, the team managed to get through the race and came out strong. Jaydon Krisch finished, placing fourth out of 127 runners. Overall, Orcas was fifth out of nine teams.
