Saints track starts out on the right foot

Orcas Christian School’s track team competed in its first meet on Thursday, March 23, at Concrete High School.

After a short flight over, the Saints got their first taste of running in a meet.

“There were definitely some nerves to be worked out but once the kids realized they just needed to get out there and run they did great,” said Coach Ryan Davis. “It was great to be there with good weather and get the kids out on the track. It was a lot of fun.

Some of the high points were: Corey Aragon running a mile in 5 minutes, 17 seconds; Cameron Aragon jumping 17 feet, 9 inches; and Alaena Comrie running an 18.78-second 100-meter hurdle.

The Saints next track meet will be Wednesday, March 28 at Friday Harbor.
