Burly Hildreth, age 12, won the Western Washington Open for both the 11-12 and 13-14 age divisions.
The Orcas Christian School Saints are excited about another great year of high school sports. This will be the third year at the helm for Saints Athletic Director Breezy Davis.

Garrett Hughes, grandson of Judy Hughes and cousin of San Juan County Councilman Rick Hughes, has received national honors for college baseball. Hughes won the American Baseball Coaches Association /Rawlings NCAA Division III Gold Glove for playing second base at Whitworth University in Oregon. Hughes had a fielding percentage of .995 for the 40 games played in 2016 season. He had only one error in 207 defensive chances. Additionally, Hughes made 120 assists, had 86 putouts and hit .295, with five home runs and 31 RBIs. Hughes is the second player for Whitworth to ever win the award.
Maia and Zoe Lewis-Shunk qualified for the state golf championship at the tri-district tournament in Oak Harbor on May 19. Maia placed third and Zoe placed fifth. The eighth-grade twins beat out 14 other girls.
The Orcas Christian School Saints flag football team leaves for the Vancouver Flag Football Championships next week leading the Nor-Pac league with an 8-1 record. The Jr. High Team is undefeated.
The Orcas Christian School Saints flag football team traveled to Vancouver, Canada in late April to compete with 15 other teams for the flag football championships.
