Orcas sailing team wins Oak Harbor regatta

Eight members of the Orcas High School sailing team traveled to the Oak Harbor team race regatta on Saturday, March 24.

The team was excited to get back on the water after their decisive wins at the Quartermaster ranking regatta in both gold and silver fleets the weekend before. The Oak Harbor regatta format was a three-on-three team race regatta, and the first team race event of the spring. Orcas was district champion last year in team racing and this would be their first test of how the team was doing in this discipline. The wind was light and shifted all day long, but Orcas stayed in tune with the changing conditions and won all eight matches, edging out Sehome High School, and winning the regatta.
