The Orcas Christian Lady Saints, earned their first win of the season in a pivotal, 35-21 win over the Lummi Nation Blackhawks.

In the win, the Lady Saints found their scoring ways as four different players found the scoreline. Junior, Emily Toombs led the Lady Saints with her 13 points.

Sophomore Point Guard, Alaena Comrie had a huge impact on the game as she established herself as a floor leader. Comrie had 10 points.  Senior, Maelle Comrie was also effective on both ends of the floor as she contributed 8 points. Junior Caitlin Fowler again proved to be a physical player as she won many battles in the rebounding end and mustered 4 hard fought points.

Getting the first win of the year was an incredible accomplishment, especially since we only have six girls on the team.” said Toombs. “We all stayed positive, and encouraged each other every step of the way.”
