Lady Viking softball starts fresh in 2018 with a new resident and coach Kevin White delivering a resume full of previous coaching experience spanning 15 years in multiple sports. Orcas living and coaching have dovetailed for White.

“I am enjoying the island life and having a good time learning the island way of doing things. It’s been a blast, totally relaxing,” he said. “I am inheriting a great team – very positive attitude and energized. I have two assistants who know the team well: Brooke Taylor and Jason Nichols.”

With a large group of returning players, a great turnout and the tremendous experience of his assistants, White can focus on elevating the team to the next level.

“My goal is to build the program,” White said. “Initially I am developing new plays, new philosophies and implementing new drills to keep the excitement going with the 18 girls on the team.”
