Lopez golfers ready for District play

Jordan Smith was the boys’ medalist carding a 43. Kevin Dengler and Colton Jardine each scored a 51.

The Lopez girls’ team won their match by a sizable margin, even though some of their top players were absent. Emily PostvanderBurg and Lisa Vaughn tied for the medalist position shooting 56 apiece. Helen O’Brien shot a 60, Sydney Hoffman carded a 62 and and Tammora Nedoroscik brought in a 68.

Seven girls and six boys have qualified for Tri/Quad Districtstournament play on May 7-8 at The Gallery course in Oak Harbor. “I believe that is a record for us,” said Têtu. The qualifying players are Jordan Smith, Kevin Dengler, Noah Dretske, Colton Jardine, Alex Cook, Josh Cook, Randi Ritchie, Lisa Vaughn, Emily PostvanderBurg, Adalya Buchanan, Helen O’Brien, Sydney Hoffman and Tammora Nedoroscik.
