Local junior golfer wins tournament

Burly Hildreth beat out the competition by one stroke to win the Pacific Northwest Junior Mini-Tour.

Burly Hildreth beat out the competition by one stroke to win the Pacific Northwest Junior Mini-Tour.

Hildreth, 12, golfed a 2-under-par of 70 at the March 6 event at McCormick Woods Golf Course in Port Orchard, Wash.

He won both first place in his division and first in the overall tournament.

Over the past two years, Hildreth has been playing at the Orcas Island Golf Course, and has been training with senior professional golfer Jeff Coston in Blaine, Wash. In that time, he has joined the Pacific Northwest Junior Golf League, and Junior Hurricane Golf.
