Aragon WIAA athlete of the week

Corey Aragon has been recognized for his excellent play this past week with WIAA Athlete of the Week honors. The WIAA recognizes one male and one female athlete from each classification each week for this honor.

“Corey has worked extremely hard this season,” said Coach Ryan Davis. “It is great to see him get recognized for his work ethic and efforts.”

Aragon was nominated for his performance against Providence Classical Christian School, where he had a stat line of 47 points, 10 rebounds and seven assists. He contributed towards 61 points through his scoring and assists.

“Due to a variety of circumstances we have relied more on Corey than originally planned,” said Coach Cameron Aragon, Corey’s older brother. “Some players would falter or shy away from the responsibility of leading a team but Corey has risen to the challenge.”

Cameron has been a big part of Corey’s success.

“Corey looks up to his brother and has enjoyed the insight Cameron is able to give him,” said Davis. “Cameron is very detailed oriented and has been driving Corey to be more successful on and off the court.”
