There they competed with junior rowing clubs from all over the Pacific Northwest. This year two crews did particularly well. Morgan Borman qualified for the final of the men's Lightweight single event and took the bronze medal. In the men’s youth quad race all competitors must be 14 years old or under. Coxswain Huxley Smart urged a team of Orcas young men to a gold medal in that event. The crew included: Rhys Thompson, Max Blackadar, Robin Gropp, Jake Zier and (Coxswain) Huxley Smart. The youth race is not a national event, so that wraps it all up for the spring season except for the end of season party on Saturday, May 30.
