The Orcas-Lopez soccer match on Saturday, Sept. 13, was a Vikngs raid on the Lobos field.

Lopez’s defenses held strong against the Viking onslaught, but two Orcas goals were scored before halftime.

Lopez Senior Jordan Haber was kept busy on the defensive end, returning the ball up field with powerful kicks. Several Lobos’ shots on goal resulted in near misses; meanwhile Orcas continued to rack up the points, using big passes and quick plays.

Sam Ferguson scored Lopez’s only goal on a penalty shot, minutes before the end of the game. The final score was seven Orcas, one Lopez.
