The Orcas Chamber is thrilled to report that our annual Fourth of July Fireworks show in Eastsound is in place and ready to go on Monday, July 4th! We should have a bang-up show, all originating in the waters of East Sound, starting at approximately 10 p.m. The Community Band will be playing for those viewing from Waterfront Park. The chamber knows the annual pyrotechnics show is an event that attracts visitors to the island (and delights islanders of all ages).
As you no doubt know, the cost of putting on a fireworks show has increased over the years. With stricter marine and Homeland Security regulations, and a barge rental charge, the chamber no longer can absorb the cost into its operations budget.
We are asking for your help! Please be a sponsor or donor for this year’s show and help ensure that we can continue the fireworks tradition in the years to come. Donations and contributions will continue to be received all summer long!
Your donation for the Fireworks can be tax-deductible! The Orcas Island Community Foundation, a 501c3 non-profit, has established a community fund available for donations. You can send in a check made payable to: OICF (PO Box 1496, Eastsound, WA 98245), or donate online at the Orcas Island Community Foundation website: https://oicferp.smalldognet.com/erp/donate/create?funit_id=1061.
As a sponsor, you will receive tour name (business/organization/individual) noted in a variety of ways: Credit given to you in an Islands’ Sounder article/ad; Credit in an OrcasIssues.com article/ad; Chamber Blast announcement; Chamber Annual Meeting announcement; Facebook, Twitter & Social Media; Chamber website home page.
