William Nichols

William (Bill) Nichols

I wanted Orcas friends to know that my Dad, Bill Nichols, died Oct. 18, 2014 from Alzheimer’s disease at age 82.

Bill was born on a farm without running water in rural Manitoba, but moved to Arizona at age 32 with his sick wife and five young children hoping the warmer weather would help my Mom. They loved Arizona and the desert. After retiring, they lived in a converted motor coach and travelled extensively in the United States, Canada and Mexico.

When Michael and I moved up here in 2004, my Dad was a widower and would summer on Orcas with us. Many people remember Dad walking his dog, Sundance, and driving his 1940-something British Racing Green MG.

His five children, his 13 grandchildren and one great grandchild survive him.
