Nighttime 5K run for SAFE San Juans

Submitted by SAFE San Juans

“SAFE on the Rocks” Twilight Glow 5k run will feature glow sticks, glow paint, a post-race party with music, food, raffle lottery tickets, family-friendly activities, and much more. The event will benefit SAFE San Juans. Even if you want to walk the route or just come for the festivities starting at 8:30 p.m., SAFE on the Rocks will have something fun for everyone (suggested $10 event entry donation per family for those not walking/running).

Three dates and locations give residents and visitors on San Juan, Orcas and Lopez the option to take part in the event in their own community as well as travel to other islands if they want twice or three times the fun.

• Orcas Island: April 22 at Orcas Athletics

• San Juan Island: April 29 at San Juan County Fairgrounds

• Lopez Island: May 6 at Lopez Center for Community and The Arts

The races kick off at 8 p.m. (Orcas) and 8:15 p.m. (San Juan and Lopez), with race staging starting at 7 p.m. and the post-race family fun at 8:30 p.m on all islands. Race entry is $25. All racers will receive a T-shirt, completion medal and other cool giveaways.

Headlamps are required for participation and will be available for rent for a minimum donation of $5, if you do not have your own.
