Madrona Point sign changed by unknown persons

The sign that formerly announced that Madrona Point is closed to the public has been changed, now reading, "Madrona Point is Sacred Ground, Leave no Trash".

The sign that formerly announced Madrona Point is closed to the public has been changed, now reading, “Madrona Point is Sacred Ground, Leave no Trash”.

Community members Che Blaine and Peter Fisher are waiting on a response from tribal authorities from their inquiry as to whether the change was approved by the Lummi nation. They are concerned that people may set off firecrackers on the point this weekend.
