If you are contemplating land development such as installation of a well, septic system or driveway, demolition or construction of a building including expansion or exterior remodeling, or shoreline tree removal, please submit a request for a Critical Area and Archaeological Map Review of your property to the SJC Department of Community Development (DCD) PRIOR to submittal of your permit application. There is no fee for this service.
This review will help you determine what reports may be required with your permit application and identify site constraints that may affect your project design, location, and site plan. Without the appropriate information in your application and on your site plan, your permit approval may be delayed while you obtain that information, or make site plan revisions.
The map review request form is available at https://www.sanjuanco.com/1301/Pre-Application-Assistance or the DCD office, 135 Rhone Street, Friday Harbor during weekday business hours from 8 am to 4:30 pm (except holidays).
The form may be submitted to firstname.lastname@example.org, dropped off at DCD, or mailed to SJC Community Development P.O. Box 947, Friday Harbor, WA 98250.
