The San Juan County Sheriff’s Office responded to the following calls.

June 13

• An Orcas deputy responded to the Orcas Sportsman Club regarding vandalism. When it was closed someone trespassed and shot a wooden stand.

• A deputy issued a citation to a driver for speeding in Friday Harbor.

• A Lopez deputy issued a citation a motorist on Fisherman Bay Road for failure to wear a seat belt.

• A deputy in Friday Harbor received a report of a juvenile problem.

• An Orcas deputy issued a citation to a driver for running the stop sign at Mount Baker Road and Lover’s Lane.

June 14

• At approximately 4:30 a.m. a deputy was dispatched to a report of a domestic dispute on San Juan Island. The complainant left the scene before a deputy arrived.

• A deputy issued tickets for failure to have boating permits in Friday Harbor.

• A Lopez deputy was contacted regarding a firearm open carry situation.

• An Orcas deputy responded to a reported order violation. The suspect has not yet been found.

• A San Juan deputy issued a driver a citation for failure to yield to the right-of-way and a gave a warning for not having insurance.

June 15

• A deputy issued a driver a citation for failure to wear a seat belt in Friday Harbor.

• A deputy issued a driver a citation for failing to yield to the right-of-way.

• Deputies were dispatched to a domestic assault in progress in Friday Harbor. Neither party was located.

• Lopez deputies issued a driver a citation for speeding 43 mph in a 25 mph zone on Fisherman Bay Road.

• Lopez deputies responded to an audible alarm on Fisherman Bay Road. A fire alarm was found and disarmed outside a home that was empty and there appeared to be no emergency.

• A deputy issued citations to two drivers for prohibited U-turn in Friday Harbor.

• A vessel issued a ticket for not having a permit and for having expired registration in Friday Harbor.

• A deputy on Orcas responded to a report of indecent exposure.

• A San Juan deputy was dispatched to a reported domestic dispute. One person was arrested and booked on the charge of assault in the fourth degree: domestic violence.

• A deputy was contacted in reference to a runaway juvenile. The parent reported his child had not returned home after school. The child returned home on his own.

• Deputies responded to a report of a fight in progress in Eastsound. Upon arrival and investigation, one subject was arrested for assault.

June 16

• A San Juan deputy was dispatched to a reported citizen dispute. The parties were separated for the for the night.

• Lopez deputies responded to a complaint of trespassing.

• A deputy responded to a report of a single-car accident on San Juan. The driver was treated and released from the hospital for minor injuries and then was arrested for two counts of possession of narcotics and booked into jail.

• A San Juan deputy was dispatched to a reported domestic dispute. Both parties were contacted and information regarding further law enforcement action was obtained.

• An Orcas deputy warned a driver for having improperly displayed tabs.

• A deputy on Orcas stopped a vehicle for speeding 45 mph in a 25 mph zone.

• A San Juan deputy reported some minor damage to a patrol car.

• An Orcas deputy issued a driver a citation for speeding 57 mph in a 40 mph zone on Orcas Road for speeding.

• An Orcas deputy issued driver a citation for speeding 38 mph in a 25 mph zone.

• An Orcas deputy responded to a non-injury plane crash at the Eastsound airport.

• A Lopez deputy issued a driver a citation for speeding 45 mph in a 25 mph zone.

• A Lopez deputy was called regarding a vessel adrift in Shoal Bay. A rescue boat from a ferry made contact with people aboard and they were able to correct the problem.

• A Lopez deputy completed required address and data verification on a registered sex offender.

• A deputy investigated an unfounded report of an assault in Friday Harbor.

June 17

• A deputy on Orcas stopped a vehicle for an obstructed license plate and expired registration. The driver was issued a citation for not having a valid operator’s license with identification, not having insurance and for having an expired registration.

• A deputy on Orcas responded to a possible bicycle theft. The bike was on loan and was taken by the owner.

• A Lopez deputy was contacted regarding an ongoing trespass issue on the private beach and tidelands south of Otis Perkins Park. Six locals were advised of their violation.

• A deputy on Orcas arrested a driver for driving with a suspended license in the second degree.

• A deputy responded to a trauma call in Friday Harbor regarding an older female who fell off her bicycle, she was transported and treated at the hospital.

• A Lopez deputy ticketed a vehicle parked illegally, partially blocking MacKaye Harbor Road.

• A Lopez deputy cited a juvenile for driving under the influence and for a hit-and-run on an unattended vehicle after a crash on MacKaye Harbor Road. The juvenile was released to a parent with citations to appear in district court.

June 18

• A deputy issued a driver a citation for speeding in Friday Harbor.

• A deputy issued two separate drivers a citation for failure to yield in Friday Harbor.

• A firearm was turned into Orcas deputies.

• A deputy was dispatched to a dispute in the Friday Harbor area and separate the parties for the night.

June 19

• A driver on Orcas was issued a warning for having a defective brake light.

• A deputy was dispatched to a juvenile problem in Friday Harbor.

• A San Juan deputy received a walk-in report of a harassment issue involving a neighbor. The complainant stated he would like to have the issue documented.

• An Orcas deputy issued a driver a citation for having an obstructed rear license plate obstructed.

• A deputy responded to a reported domestic dispute call in Friday Harbor but the involved person had left before the deputy arrived.

• Orcas deputies issued a citation to a driver for speeding 55 mph in a 35 mph zone on Olga Road.
