Orcas and Lopez School levies pass; Orcas bond did not

Lopez Island School District #144, Proposition No. 1 Levy for Educational Maintenance and Operations

Yes: 562, 75.54%

No: 182, 24.46%

Proposition No. 1 Levy for Maintenance and Operations was approved.

Yes: 1,266, 67.74%

No: 603, 32.26%

Proposition No. 2 School Facilities Improvements Bonds

Approved: 1,026, 55.16%

Rejected: 834, 44.84%

The bond needs a 60 percent plus one vote approval to pass.

The next ballot count is on Feb. 12 at 5 p.m.
