Richard Fralick of Orcas West and Lovel Pratt of San Juan South were sworn in as members of the San Juan County Council Monday, Jan. 12. Howard Rosenfeld of Friday Harbor was sworn in for a second term. Fralick succeeds Alan Lichter; Pratt succeeds Kevin Ranker, who is now a state senator. The council is now comprised of members elected since the adoption of the county charter. The council then elected Rich Peterson, San Juan North, chairman. Council members serve four-year terms and are paid $34,393 a year.
