Double ballots mailed to Lopez residents

The San Juan County Elections department reported on Oct. 23 that when the election ballots were sent out two weeks ago, a handful of Lopez residents' ballots were printed twice and mailed out. The San Juan County Elections Department caught the mistake, called each person who was affected, and instructed him/her to throw away the voided ballot and use the correct one.

A number of posters in Lopez Village have prompted calls to the Elections office, but according to a spokesperson at the elections department, this was not a widespread problem and it has been entirely resolved with the small number of people it involved.
