Canoe Journey adds to congestion

Washington State Department of Transportation (WSDOT) Ferries Division asks that customers traveling to the San Juan Islands between Wednesday, July 23 and Saturday, July 26 plan ahead for extra congestion. (See Story B2).

The 2008 Canoe Journey will bring about 500 participating canoe family members, 60 vehicles, and 22 trailers to Shaw Island on July 24, San Juan Island on July 25, and from Friday Harbor to Sidney or back to Anacortes on July 26. The 2008 Canoe Journey concludes at Cowichan Bay on Vancouver Island.
