Nov. 9: An Orcas Island man was arrested shortly after he allegedly left Island Market without paying for nine artificial logs, two magazines, one bottle of wine and 14 packages of beef jerky. The 38-year-old, who reportedly was intoxicated at the time, was detained in the parking lot by a manager following a confrontation shortly before 9 p.m. He faces charges of shoplifting $133 worth of merchandise.
