Free Blood Pressure Checks: Orcas Island Medical Center, 10 a.m. - noon. Sponsored by Orcas Island Medical Guild.

Herbal Balm Making: Learn about plants and how to make herbal products and take creations with you! 5- 6 p.m. Meet at picnic shelter across road from Cascade Lake swimming beach. $5 suggested donation. Pre-register at Chamber of Commerce booth in park. Walk-ins first-come, first served.

FRIDAY, SEPT. 2

Exploring the Forest Floor: Take guided hike with interpreter: Learn about ecology of Pacific Northwest forest plants 3:30 -5 p.m. Meet at Cold Springs picnic shelter, Moran State Park. $5 suggested donation. Pre-register at Chamber of Commerce booth in park, walk-ins first-come, first served.

Peter Fisher Photo Exhibit: “Sky, Water, Land,” Darvill Gallery. Reception 4 to 7 p.m. Refreshments will be served.

Low Tide Beach Walk: Join naturalist, explore beach and tide pools, discover crabs, sea stars, anemones, and a variety of marine life, low tide. Meet at beach below campsites at Obstruction Pass State Park. $5 suggested donation. Pre-register at Chamber of Commerce booth in Moran State Park, walk-ins first-come, first served.

SUNDAY, SEPT. 4

Seventh Annual Steve Braun Memorial Triathlon: Moran State Park, 9 a.m. Register by calling the Orcas Island Recreation Program, 376-5339.

Victorian Valley Music Festival: Benefit for Orcas Montessori School, 3 - 7 p.m. Tickets, $20, at Darvill's Bopokstore, Ray's Pharmacy and Orcas Village Store. Kids under 12 admitted free.

Laugh Lover's Comedy Tour: Comedians David Crowe, Kermet Apio, Jackie Kashian. Two benefit shows for local non-profits.
