Explaining that It has become too hard to make the meetings, Frank Cantwell has resigned from the Port of Orcas Commission. Cantwell and his family are now residing in Seattle, where he is a full-time math and science teacher at Chief Sealth High School. He previously taught math at the Orcas school, but in a part-time role.

They will visit the island about once a month during the school year, and will spend their summers on the island. During the off-season, company operations are in the hands of Les Swientek.
Cantwell served on the commission for three years, two of them as chair.
His successor will be appointed by the port commissioners, but only until the end of the year. The position will be up for election in November.
