Forums to feature county commissioner candidates

The League of Women Voters of the San Juans will host candidate forums prior to the Nov. 2 general election on Lopez, Orcas, and San Juan islands. The dates, times, and places are as follows:

Tuesday, Oct. 12, San Juan Island, Friday Harbor High School Commons, 7 -9 p.m.

Wednesday, Oct. 13, Eastsound Fire Hall, 7-9 p.m.

Thursday, Oct. 14, Lopez Center for Community and the Arts, 6-8 p.m.

The League has invited the following candidates to attend: two county commissioner; 40th Legislative District Senate; and Second Congressional District races.

The League has also invited speakers addressing the two local tax issues – the school bond on Orcas and the Fire and EMS levy on Lopez – at their respective forums.

Voters at all three forums will have an opportunity to listen to the presentations and ask questions.
