After conferring with her doctor, Keri Rose has decided to postpone her brain surgery until next winter, and possibly even longer.

Rose, who has a non-malignant tumor wrapped around an optic nerve, was informed by her doctor that she can delay the surgery without entailing additional risk to her life or vision. She will remain in Portland, Ore. next fall, however, and will continue pursuing her studies at Lewis & Clark College.

A fund which has been established in her name at Islanders Bank will remain in effect. However, a musical concert that had been scheduled for July 26 has been postponed indefinitely.

Rose hopes to visit Orcas Island later this month.
