OPALCO reelects Crosby, Peterson
June 17, 2008 · Updated 3:30 PM
Orcas Power and Light Cooperative incumbents Roger Crosby and Ed Peterson have been reelected to the board of directors.
The incumbents each received in excess of 300 votes, enabling them to comfortably defeat the six challengers: William H. Burlew, Jr., Tom Cannon, Austin Grant, Richard (Dick) Hansen, Douglas Schliebus and Martin Taylor.
It has become customary for incumbents to win elections to the OPALCO board. Doug Pearson, who has been tallying the votes for more than 20 years, says the incumbents have won every time that he has been involved with the process.
The election results were announced at the OPALCO annual meeting May 10.
