The League of Women Voters of the San Juans, Orcas Sub-unit will host a County Council Candidates’ Forum on Wednesday, Jan. 16 from 5 to 7 p.m. at the Orcas Senior Center.
The forum will be moderated by Board Member Margie Doyle. Candidates for the primary election in February 2013 from all islands for the county-wide vote have been invited; Greg Ayers, Lisa Byers and Rick Hughes from Orcas have announced they will attend; as will Marc Florenza, Bob Jarman and Lovel Pratt, candidates from San Juan Island.
All candidates will have a three-minute introductory statement and then the floor is opened for questions from the audience. After a question is presented, all candidates will have one minute to respond.
There will also be a forum on Lopez Island on Thursday, Jan. 17 from 5 to 7 p.m. at the Grace Episcopal Church.
