Record number of Early Birds
May 21, 2009 · 10:06 AM
The Orcas Island Chamber Music Festival’s 2009 Early Bird event – those arriving to buy tickets before 10 a.m. on opening day – had a record number of attendees, with 40 community members in the cue.
Telephone and walk-in sales continued throughout the day. The photo above captures about half of the Early Bird group at 9 a.m. A drawing for 12 prizes honoring the 12th Season of concerts was a surprise reward concocted by Mary Poletti, event leader. Harvey Aldort was first in line, arriving shortly after 4 a.m., and a prize winner as well. Concert and Music Lovers’ Seminar tickets continue to be on sale for the August 16 to 29 Chamber Music Festival through the box office at 376-2281.
