Dr. Xandra Rarden has joined the Orcas Family Health Center as a family physician on a part-time basis according to Medical Director Dr. David Shinstrom.
“It is currently the plan for her to work here several days a month seeing patients in the office as well as assisting in the after -hours call responsibilities,” said Shinstrom.
Rarden grew up in San Francisco and went to college at Cornell in Ithaca, New York. After medical school at the University of California San Diego she did her family medicine residency at the Swedish Hospital Family Medicine Residency in Seattle. Her special interest is international medicine. This past September she returned from a six-month medical assignment in eastern Congo affiliated with Doctors Without Borders/Medecins Sans Frontieres.
Orcas Family Health Center is a 501(c)3 nonprofit rural health center with a mission to provide care to all regardless of ability to pay.
