FoodMasters organization will offer an all-day seaweed workshop on Thursday, June 16, taught by local seaweed expert Ryan Drum.

Attendees will learn how to identify and ethically harvest local sea vegetables, how to use them as food and medicine, and how to dry, process, and store them. The class includes how to make bullwhip kelp pickles.

Join us at the beach for a hands on experience!” say organizers. The class will run from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m.

Space is limited and pre-registration is required for this class. The cost is $25; some scholarships and trade opportunities are available upon request. Although not required in order to attend, everyone who wishes to  harvest must obtain a harvesting permit.
