The Olga Symphony, More or Less

A cherished Thanksgiving weekend tradition continues this year, as the Olga Symphony returns to the Orcas Center stage on Friday and Saturday, Nov. 25 and 26. As always, Symphony members Gordon, Melinda, JP and Anita will bring wonderfully non-symphonic songs and tunes, old favorites and new treasures.

This year’s show is entitled “The Olga Symphony, More or Less,” because the band is bringing some friends along for the fun; local favorite Mandy Troxel will be gracing the concert with some of her great songs, and Mel Urbanozo will bring a taste of Hawaii with his ukulele and crystalline vocals.

The evening will include guitar, bass, fiddle, ukulele, dobro, banjo, saw, marvelous vocal harmonies and the sharpest dressers on the island. And, well, just a really good time!

Showtime is 7:30 pm, tickets, available at www.orcascenter.org or 376-2281, are still just $5, so bring your family, friends, and neighbors. The symphony will be continuing another tradition as well – all proceeds will benefit Orcas Center and other island charities. You will have fun. We promise.
