In the tradition of Memorial Day celebrations on Orcas Island, Kaleidoscope Preschool and Child Care Center would like to join them for the 28th Annual Pet Parade.

Locals and visitors are sure to have a fun time as the menagerie of animals parade through the streets; starting at the school, winding through town, and ending at the Eastsound Village Green. A Farmer’s Market complete with the farm critters. The parade starts at 11:00 am, with ribbon and trophy presentation immediately following at the stage.

Those who would like to bring your animals from home and show them off, meet at the school for registration beginning at 10 a.m. Dress your pets in costume to be judged for one of many trophy categories, generously sponsored by our favorite island businesses. Don’t forget there is an Adult category, with a PAWKI’s Gift Certificate prize.

Kaleidoscope would like to say thank you to the local businesses and individuals for supporting our organization. It truly takes a community to fulfill the vital role of educating young children. Just as they support us, we would like to encourage you to support them in return by shopping local. A special thank you goes out to Orcas Kiwanis for keeping us safe and directing traffic, and the volunteers who help organize and judge for this event.
