Orcas Center hosts Cheryl Richey in March

The Orcas Center Visual Arts Committee is proud to present Cheryl Richey, an abstract artist who has shown her work in numerous art galleries throughout the Northwest. Join Richey for an opening reception at 5:30 p.m. on Friday, March 2, at Orcas Center. Richey’s spontaneous and experimental mixed media work incorporates materials ranging from charcoal, sand and sawdust along with acrylics. She draws inspiration from nature and the metaphysical world.

“My process often begins with creating spontaneous, textured surfaces, then I consider how to make sense out of nonsense,” Richey said. “My creative process succeeds when I am able to integrate free experimentation and deep personal expression.”

The Visual Arts Committee presents monthly exhibits at Orcas Center. For more information about this show, call Leon Rosenblatt at 415-302-8116. The show runs through April 3.
