The Orcas Island Community Foundation will offer Board Boot Camp on Thursday, Sept. 20, from 1–5 p.m. at Eastsound Firehall. This action-packed workshop will help you develop the skills and knowledge needed to be an effective board member. We will focus on individual responsibilities, team building, successful meeting practices and nurturing a positive board culture. If you are considering board service, but not yet committed, come to learn the basics and see if this is a role you might enjoy. If you are already on a board, learn techniques to make your role more rewarding, both for you and your organization. We encourage your entire Board to attend as a group to reinforce your good habits and teach you new tricks.
